Rails to Grantown

Today was the Rails to Grantown Project, where regional and national Press & TV took the opportunity to cover the launch of the “Rails to Grantown” appeal at Broomhill Station, near Dulnain Bridge. Invitations were extended to local and national politicians as well as leaders of the many organisations giving support to the project.

A steam locomotive pulling the Officer’s Saloon heralded the launch of the appeal event at 12 noon, where it passed through large publicity banners, breaking a tape to launch our efforts to raise at least £182,000 in the current year.

Later guests took a trip down some of the new track already laid towards Grantown, the first time passengers had been carried on this stretch of track for over 30 years.
